Near sunset, the zinnia rows seem to hold light inside their petals. Every color softens, and the garden becomes quiet enough to study one bloom at a time.
These photographs are a record of that brief hour: ruffled edges, weathered leaves, and color still opening after a long Louisiana day.
Photography helps me keep what the season cannot. The flowers will fade, but their beauty has already become part of the story.
