A damaged leaf can make the whole plant look troubled, but one wounded place does not tell the whole story. I begin by looking closely before I cut anything away.
Some leaves need removing. Others need better light, gentler watering, or simply time. Healing is often less dramatic than rescue; it is a series of faithful, ordinary choices.
I leave the garden remembering that care can be both tender and wise. We can honor what hurts without giving up on what is still growing.
